Are Job Applicants Happy With Your Hiring Process?

Does your company follow-up promptly with job applicants? This may seem like a trivial question, but it could impact your hiring pipeline. A recent Mystery Applicant Survey found that 58% of the surveyors did not receive regular feedback about their job application and a mere 26% said that they had a good experience with the company they had approached.
Employers should understand that just like they conduct background checks on prospective employees, the job applicants also run checks on the company even before applying. Background checks are now a two way street, where the applicants have various research methods, like the company’s website, its Facebook/LinkedIn page, and job portals, from where they can gather the required information. People in charge of hiring should understand the importance of a fair hiring system, so that they do not lose good future employees. One applicant who goes out unsatisfied with the ‘candidate experience’ can cause a lot of damage to the company’s reputation. It was seen that at least 64% of the applicants spread the word through social media websites, which are rampant. So, if you wish to hire good employees while maintaining your company’s reputation, make sure that anyone who approaches you for a job is treated justly.
